About Me

I'm a primary school teacher who also moonlights working online. I spent several years successfully working from home in various IT fields (and only rarely in my pyjamas). I've developed quite a broad skill set covering website development, graphic design, video creation and editing, running webinars, doing customer support, running and managing membership sites, digital publishing and much, much more.

Employment

Kindergarten Teacher1993 - 1999

As a university trained primary school teacher (specialising in early childhood) I ran the kindergarten program on the campus of QUT Carseldine.

Primary School Teacher2000-2007

And school IT coordinator

While teaching primary school I taught grades one though five and prided myself on delivering a compelling and challenging curriculum.

I was also the school's IT coordinator, doing everything from maintaining the school's network, replacing and installing new hardware, running inservice workshops for the teaching faculty and generally being the go to guy for everything IT related in the school.

Online Developer2008-2014

Web Design and Digital Content Producer

From 2008 to 2014 I worked exclusively for the company 30DC Inc. In my role with 30DC Inc I was involved in every facet of the company, from delivering online courses, producing video, audio and PDF content, setting up and maintaining a wide variety of websites, running webinars etc.

Over the years I have been responsible for or been part of the team that delivered cutting edge online courses and membership programs, including The Challenge which is a yearly program that over the past eight years has helped over 260,000 people get started making an income online. In fact, it was as a participant in the very first Challenge that got me started working online and lead me to actually working for the company.

As indicated to the left in the My SKills area, I have developed a very varied skill set in my time with 30DC Inc, in particular with the desktop publishing, product creation, video editing, social media platforms and web development fields (with web development I have developed a high level of skill with Wordpress in particular).

In recent years, the company has focussed on the digital publishing field, releasing a platform called MagCast for publishing digital magazines to Apple's Newsstand. As a result I have also developed skills publishing a digital magazine called Digital Publisher (which is 30DC Inc's own digital magazine).

Education

Bachelor of Education1990 - 1994

Specialising in Early Childhood

A four year teaching degree completed at QUT Kelvin Grove.
